COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS
In addition to direct client services, ATVP provides a number of free prevention and community education opportunities. This may include presentations, trainings, outreach events, community fairs, public service announcements, brochures and other written materials. ATVP offers a variety of presentation topics geared towards any age group. Presentations and trainings are provided at no cost to school classes, university classes, service providers, living groups, professionals (such as in-service trainings and staff meeting trainings), and other community groups. ATVP's community presentations can cover, but are not limited to, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, domestic violence, teen sexuality, dating violence, stalking, and legal issues are offered to any group, school or community organization. Presentations will be tailored to your audience.

Agency Services
This presentation gives a summary of ATVP operations and services. We will discuss ATVP locations and structure, and give an overview of what services are available and how to access them. We may include an introduction to domestic violence and sexual assault. We can discuss training, internship and volunteer opportunities.Sexual Assault
This presentation includes the basic definitions of sexual assault, the victim experience, and what to do if you or a friend has been sexually assaulted. We may discuss what date rape drugs are, how to know if you've been dosed, and safety tips. We can tailor this presentation toward living groups, community groups, and service providers.Sexual Harassment
This presentation discusses the definition and severity of sexual harassment, as well as the differences between flirting and hurting. Activities may be used for thinking about the impact of words and messages. This is most frequently presented to junior high and high school aged students.Talking About Touching
This presentation is targeted at children ages 4 to 12, and discusses the difference between safe and unsafe touches. We will introduce sexual abuse using safe picture stories and discussion questions. We will also discuss safety planning. We can tailor the presentation for a specific focus or group.Internet Safety
This presentation will discuss the dangers of not protecting yourself or your personal information on the internet, an in-depth look at the various types of cyber crimes, as well as tips and tools to safely communicate in cyberspace.Self-Esteem & Body Image
The focus of this presentation varies by audience. When geared at K-12 students, we will discuss the importance of looking beyond appearances, and dissect the role media images play in the construction of gender roles and body image. When geared toward adults, we will discuss how to teach positive self-esteem and body image to children.Child Abuse & Neglect
This presentation gives the types and definitions of child abuse and neglect, including an overview of Washington and Idaho state laws and reporting requirements. We also discuss how to recognize and respond to child abuse. This presentation is often geared toward parents and service providers.Domestic Violence
This presentation includes the types and continuums of abuse. We will discuss the role of power and control, and barriers to leaving abusive relationships. We may also discuss legal issues and can gear the presentation toward specific groups, for example, married adults or same-sex couples.Healthy Relationships
This presentation discusses what dating violence is and how to recognize the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships. We will discuss the role of power and control in relationships, and provide information on resources.
